Booking Terms & Conditions
Please read thoroughly:
For your tandem experience to be as safe and enjoyable as possible, it is necessary for you to read and understand our terms.
Weather Conditions
Paragliding is hugely weather dependent and we require a specific forecast. Conditions need to be fine and dry, with good visibility and light winds in the direction for our chosen take off hill. We’ll make every effort to fly you as soon as possible; however we cannot control the UK weather and will not fly if it is unsafe.
On the day, you may have to wait for some time for a weather window, so it’s a good idea to bring food and a warm drink to keep you going. If you are flying from the Long Mynd, there is a club house cafe.
We plan for the flight to last 20-25 minutes, however we may need to land early if conditions change. You are entitled to a second flight if your first flight is under 20 minutes: for example, this could include a top to bottom descending flight, or second soaring flight.
BHPA
Our sport is governed by the British Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association (BHPA). You are required to join the association prior to your tandem flight, and this fee is covered within the cost of the experience.
Personal Accident Insurance
You understand that, as a BHPA member you are entitled to third party insurance, BUT that it provides you with no personal accident cover. You understand that the tandem instructors have third party liability insurance provided by the BHPA. We advise for you to have sufficient personal accident insurance and it is your sole responsibility to arrange this.
Health
You understand that the nature of paragliding involves walking and running short distances on uneven ground, and may involve a moderate hill hike.
You certify that you are in good health and understand that it is your responsibility to obtain a doctor’s letter certifying your fitness to fly if suffering from any condition which may affect physical or mental appropriateness to fly. Please note; if you are unsure whether you are fit enough to fly for any reason, please contact us to discuss beforehand.
You must be 100kg or less (all up weight). We will ask you your weight before the flight, so we can set our equipment up correctly.
Drugs and Alcohol
You are not taking any medication or non-prescription drugs of any kind, nor shall you do so during the tandem experience. You shall not consume any alcohol during the twelve hours preceding the flight, be under the influence, or be suffering from the effects of alcohol consumption whilst taking part in the tandem experience.
Instructors Decisions
For safety reasons, we reserve the right to refuse to fly with any person considered unfit, unprepared or improperly equipped in any way to continue their flight. We don’t take this decision lightly, and it’s for good reason if we aren’t flying.
Gear
You understand that you must be appropriately dressed with outdoor clothing, such as windproof jacket, base layers, walking trousers and walking boots- always better to take layers off, than to be too cold and not enjoy your experience. You must wear shoes with foot support and good grip such as hiking boots or trail shoes- we will not fly you otherwise.
You can bring your own camera, but it must be small enough to be stowed away on take-off/ landing, and attached to you so it can’t be dropped.
Risk Warning
You understand that paragliding is a form of aviation and an adventure sport which carries potentially dangerous consequences and inherent risk of injury or death. You also unreservedly indemnify Evolution Paramotoring & Paragliding School and its employees, proprietors, instructors (FlyYou2), servants or agents for any loss of injury, howsoever caused during your participation in the tandem paragliding experience.
You will be fully briefed on the day of your flight. Should you have any questions in the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact us. We’re happy to help!
If under 18, parent / guardian consent is also required; by checking the box you understand an additional form will need to be signed by you and your parent or legal guardian before any activity takes place. This is sent to you via email, if you decide to go ahead with a booking.
Our commitment to Fair Flying
Many companies require passengers to commit to advanced payment. It can be difficult (and frustrating) to achieve your flight before your booking window runs out. We know life is busy and want you to have a stress free experience, therefore we don’t require payment until the day you fly.
